Who is Jacob Trujillo?

I am a proud 14th-generation New Mexican who, at just 24 years old, has built a strong resume of service and accomplishments.

My journey began humbly, working in fast food and retail, but I was fortunate to advance my career and began working in the federal government in 2021. Since then, I’ve dedicated my entire professional career to serving New Mexico, collaborating with elected officials and community advocates to address critical issues like housing, substance abuse, and securing vital investments for our underfunded communities.

But my work doesn’t stop there. After my official duties are done, I continue to devote my time to political advocacy and community involvement. Over the past few years, I’ve been honored to serve in a variety of roles, including:

  • Central Committee Member (CCC) and State Central Committee Member (SCC)

  • Member of DPNM’s Affirmative Action Committee

  • Secretary of the LGBTQIA+ Caucus

  • Delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention

  • President of my neighborhood association board

  • Volunteer in several nonprofit leadership roles


While I’ve been blessed to accomplish a lot, my journey is just beginning. I am ready to do even more for Bernalillo County and for New Mexico.

I am running for Chair of the Democratic Party of Bernalillo County to ensure that we remain grounded in community and focused on results. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive, and impactful party for the future.

My journey with the Democratic Party has been one of dedication and growth. As a young Democrat, I've had the privilege of serving our party at federal, state, and county levels, holding various positions that have given me invaluable insights into our party's operations and needs. This diverse experience has equipped me with a unique perspective on how we can move forward and make a real difference in our community.

I believe that my combination of fresh ideas and practical experience makes me well-suited to lead our county party into a new era of engagement and progress. With your endorsement, we can:
